6/05/02 - Renovation Plans for both the Main House and Back House are finalized. Construction will begin after two underground oil tanks located on the property are removed and as long as no soil contamination is found.

     

6/7/02 - Two underground oil tanks were removed, one located beside the main house along Pickard Lane, the other located next to the Back House. Soil surrounding the tanks was sent to be tested for contamination and will be reviewed immediately. Results from the tests will be available on June 11, 2002.

     

7/23/02 - The loan closing occurred today and construction plans are being finalized.

6/11/02 - The tests for soil contamination after the removal of the oil tanks came back negative. Information will be posted soon on the date for the beginning of Construction. Check back soon!

     
9/23/02 - Currently the both houses are being weather proofed and demolition to the interior has begun. The interior demolition will take approximately 4 weeks to complete. After this has been completed, construction on the exterior will begin.
     
10/04/02 - Demolition is progressing on time. The kitchen, first and second floor bathrooms, and the landing area on the second floor have been completely removed from the main house. Work to remove the exterior siding on both houses began this week, one week ahead of schedule.

11/19/02 - Rough framing in both the main house and back annex has begun. Several areas of structural damage were found in both houses. Those areas which were identified have been resupported and will be replaced in the near future. All exterior siding to both houses has been completely removed.
     
12/28/02 - The new windows have arrived and are currently being installed. The rough framing for both the main house and back annex has been completed. The new staircase in the main house has been built. Replacement siding on both houses is also being installed and should be completed in the next three weeks. Most of the work continues inside both houses, so poor weather conditions have not slowed work.
   
1/08/03 - Work continues to progress well. The siding continues to be installed and most of the new windows have been installed. The sub-flooring has been installed in space where the old kitchen was, replacing the floor that had been damaged. Work to replace the exterior framing to the back annex where terminte damage was discovered is almost complete. The basketball court and front fire escape have been removed to make room for the new parking lot.
   
1/17/03 - The snow that fell overnight did not stop work at the house. Electricians are busy installing the new wiring in the main house and back annex. The grading for the new parking lot has been completed and the trees behind the main house have been removed, making room for the new parking lot in the back. New siding is now on the front of the main house. Work will begin soon on the footings for the addition to the main house for the new kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms.
2/5/03 - It has been a wet couple weeks. Despite two days with snowfall and several days of rain, work has contiued. Most of the new exterior siding on both the main house and back annex has been installed. Only the exterior siding on the back of the main house remains to be intalled, and that will be done when the addition is completed. Most of the electrical wiring has been completed in both houses. Work should begin in the next few days on the plumbing, as well as the fire sprinkler installation.
3/01/03 - Construction is projected to be completed two months from today. Work on framing the new kitchen and lower level bathroom has begun. Both the main and back house have been primed and will be painted in the coming week, weather permitting. Work continues on the plumbing and the new fire sprinkler system has been roughed in. The new showers for the bathrooms in the main and back house have been installed also. Dry wall work should begin this week, as well as continued construction on the new addition.
   
3/27/03 - Construction is on schedule to be completed May 1. The exterior of both houses are being painted with the final color. Inside both houses, dry wall work is close to being finished. A new roof on both houses has been installed. Work continues to complete the sprinkler system. The new addition has been completed, and work inside continues.
     
4/17/03 - Work on the main house has been slowed due to poor weather conditions lately. However, progress is being made. The dry wall has been installed in the old part of the main house, and is currently being installed in the addition. The dry wall work in the back house is close to completion. All new windows have now been installed. In addition, work to connect the gas line to the house begun. The concrete for the new side walks and handicap ramp is in the process of being poured.
   
5/6/03 - Construction is nearing an end. Within the next week and a half all major work should be completed. Right now, the interior of both the main house and back annex are being painted. The tile floors for all the bathrooms and the new kitchen have been laid. The new staircase in the main house is being installed. The emergency fire staircase for the back annex has been installed also. Work to install a new outdoor stairwell for access to the basement in the main house has begun.
     
5/19/03 - Renovations to the back annex are nearing completion. Power has been restored to the back annx. The main house is also close to being finished. All construction equipment will be removed in the next day or so, and the hardwood floors will be sanded and refinished. The new Kitchen equipment will arrive soon and be installed. The parking lot will also be paved soon.
   
5/26/03 - All bathroom fixtures have been installed in the back annex, as well as all light fixtures. All that remains to be done with the back annex is for the floors to be sanded and refinished. Work to the main house is in the final stages. The carpet has been completely installed. The new light fixtures have also been installed. Power should be restored to the main house very soon. The new phone line is being installed and the parking lot will be paved as soon as the wet weather subsides for a couple days. The main house wood floors will be sanded and refinished. The new kitchen equipment will be installed in the next week.
 
6/10/03 - The hardwood floors in the main house have been sanded and refinished. Installation of the kitchen cabinets is completed and all new kitchen equipment has been put in place. If the warm, dry weather continues, the parking lot should be paved by the end of the week. The new ice machine is also being installed, as well as the new basketball hoop. A privacy fence will be completed following the paving of the parking lot. Water is running in both the main house and back annex.
     
6/20/03 - The rain over the past week has slowed completion. However, most interior work is completed. Power has been restored to the main house and the final steps to activate the sprinkler system have begun. The back parking lot has been paved and with some sun and a couple dry days the main parking lot should be paved also. A new security light has been installed in the main parking lot. The front sidewalk will be completely replaced with new brick. The front porch will be sanded and repainted in the coming week.
   
7/02/03 - The main parking lot has been paved and a security light has been installed. A privacy fence has been installed on the Pickard Lane side of the house. A new brick walk has also been installed in the front yard. With the construction now completed, the application process for the proper permits has begun. As soon as the final occupancy permit is granted, the house will be turned back over to the Gamma Nu Foundation, Inc.
     
7/10/03 - The front porch to the main house has been sanded and repainted, as has the staircase in the back annex. A new drain system was installed for the back annex to help prevent water from collecting underneath the building. The landscaper is in the process of landscaping the front yard and areas around the parking lot.
     
7/25/03 - The landscaping has been completed. Final painting to both the interior and exterior of both houses will occur this week. Stainless steel counter tops have been installed in the kitchen for durability. All bedroom furniture has been delivered and assembled. Final inspections are occurring to secure the proper permits.
